Artist's Comments
Part of A couple in New York Series.
Number #7. The story : Although he couldn't really explain why, he just had the feeling that, after he "met" her at the Guggenheim Museum, if ever they'll meet again, it would definitly be in a museum. He thought about modern art first, probably because of what you can find in the "creamy cake" liek he liked to call it. Yet, he didn't find her at the MoMA. But still, he had this really deep feeling that he would met her in a museum. Naturaly, his feet made him go through Central Park to finally visit the Met. She, too, had the feeling that they'll meet in a museum, and of course, the fact that she has seen him in the MoMA confirmed her thoughts. When she saw him going out from upstairs, she bited her lips a bit. "Damn, I'll miss him again..." When she thought again about how his face looked like at the Guggenheim, she realised he only could be a tourist. "And where a tourist could go after the Guggenheim and the MoMA ? The Met of course !" After about an hour of seeking each other, both were really exhausted. He even started loosing hope. He went to the asiatic wing again, just because he liked the serenity and the strange silence there was there that no one could possibly imagine you'd reach in such a big place fool of unrespectful tourists. As she was seating on a banch for about ten minutes now, looking to that foutain which empty eyes, a passing by silhouette made her go back to the real world. She smiled.
